Do you need Help for anxiety?
We all get anxious sometimes. In fact, anxiety is a necessary for us to survive. It can motivate us to go forward, stops us in the face of danger, and teach us important lessons.
However, anxiety can become too much of a good thing. If you’re plagued by anxiety, it can interfere with:
- Work
- Friendships
- Relationships
- Your quality of life
When you’re seeking assistance to reduce your anxiety, it helps to have a therapist who has lived long enough to understand anxiety and its consequences.
I have been able to help many people who have:
- Phobias
- OCD
- Social anxiety
- Panic attacks
I work with anxiety in a unique way
I see anxiety not as one “thing” we call anxiety. Rather, I see it as a combination of emotions – worry, fear, concern, anger, frustration, helplessness, and uncertainty (to name a few). They can get “bunched up” and cause us to feel overwhelmed and frightened.
In fact, how you experience what you call anxiety may be completely different than how I or other people experience it. I believe that each person has a different experience of anxiety.
As a result, I will do my best to help you to “unbunch” anxiety, to have it be more manageable. For one thing, it will become less overwhelming as we identify those feelings. And second, part of what I do would be to help manage your emotions rather than running from them or trying to escape.
I cannot guarantee that you will get better (no one can), but I’ll do my best. You’re welcome to try a session or two to see if I will indeed be helpful, and if you’re comfortable and want to work with me, I’ll do my best to help you overcome what for many is a debilitating condition.
